Dust Mites. What are they? Are they living? How many are there in my house? What do they eat? Why are people allergic to them? There are many questions pertaining to dust mites, however very little people know anything about these creatures that exist almost everywhere. For What Reason Do Dust Mites Live in My Bed, Couch, etc.? Dust mites find humid places within your house favorable so any place where you sweat, drool, or even breathe creates optimal living conditions for dust mites. Dust mites also find places such as deep within the fibers of your couch or carpet a great place to live, because it is away from sunlight and the dust mites are protected from vacuums.

What is it Dust Mites Feed On? The answer to this one is simple. Dust mites like to feed on you. Dust mites thrive and feed on the dead skin that sheds off of humans on a daily basis. A solitary day of shredded skin from a human is enough to feed thousands of dust mites.

Wouldn’t it be Smarter to Call Them Skin Mites Instead of Dust Mites? Dust in mostly composed of dead skin. The dust found within your house, in places such as the TV, or in the air is actually dead skin. Because a majority of dust is comprised of the dead skin dust mites feed on, dust mites are called “dust” mites.
